But there are things that must be emphasized in the cutting, namely the curved portion at the top of the bottle is fixed while for the middle part that has a stip or section cut and taken for the helper buffer connection. 3. How to make a lotus flower from a straw

How to make lotus flowers from straws

Materials and tools needed:

  • Flatbed straws (flattened drink straws) which must be divided into 4 parts
  • Wire
  • Needle
  • Scissor
  • Ornament of the pistil and the petals

How to make a lotus flower:

  1. First of all, prepare 4 sticks of straw, don't forget to flatten them to become flat straws. Each straw divide into 4 small pieces.
  2. Cut the squashed straws into approximately 2/3 the width of the straw to be cut. Scissors straight then curves to the left to form a petal, not to cut it straight until it breaks!
  3. At the end of the scissor that curves to the left, make the tip side pointy. Try cutting it out by curving straight away and not giving it a break in the middle of the cut.
  4. Then, scissors slightly down the right end curved too. Just cut a little to give a flower petal pattern.
  5. If so, the results will be like this. Make sure the cuttings are curved and not elbow shaped. If it's still in the shape of an elbow, trim the cut so that the results are exactly the same as in the picture.
  6. When opened, it will look like this. There are hemispheres on the center of the flattened petals.
  7. Bend the center of the petals up and then fold the lower part of the petals like a lotus, hold the bottom end and prick using a needle so that it is neatly arranged.
  8. Add another lotus petal that has been bent into the needle to form a series. Be careful not to get your fingers punctured by needing careful precision.
  9. Slowly and carefully, move the petals to the long wire.
  10. The trick is to place the end of the wire at the tip of the pointed needle then slowly, sliding the petals until they move to the wire. Bend the other end of the wire slightly so the petals do not fall to the other end of the wire.
  11. Repeat the steps until all the flower petals are arranged on the wire. Then form the wire in a circular manner to form a lotus flower.
  12. Prepare green pistils and petals. Add garnishes and green petals to the lotus to the bottom of the lotus flower to give the impression of a real flower.
  13. Tie all the petals with a wire that has been wrapped and then trim. Arranged flowers are ready and ready to be assembled!
